Are you nervy, irritable, depressed, tired of life? Keep it up. For on March the 5th, the great Barony of Stonemarche will be hosting its first annual shopping-mall extravaganza, the Aisles of Marche.
Yea, there will be wares at the Aisles of Marche. And rumor has it, the Emperor and Empress of the East shall appear to address their subjects, and artisans the Kingdom over shall flock to present their handiworks – and to vie, of course, for a chance to be named Champion of Arts and Sciences.
Nay, there shall be no quarreling or combat permitted in the Aisles; but bring an ample coin purse, and you may just find the period goods that you’ve been looking for!

What is the Aisles of Marche? Is it Birka?
The Aisles of Marche is a shopping event, similar to the market portion of A Market Day at Birka. However, unlike Birka, this is a one-day event, and does not take place at the traditional Birka site.
Is there overnight accommodation at Aisles?
No. Unlike past Birkas, Aisles does not take place at a hotel. If you need overnight accommodation, be sure to check out hotels in the area.
Will there be vendors?
Yes! We already have around 30 vendors who will be joining us to sell their wares.
I’m concerned about Covid safety – will the market space be as tightly packed as the Birka vending space?
The space for this event allows for MUCH more distancing than our traditional Birka setup, since it takes place in a space formerly used as a mall. All COVIDSafe protocols will be followed, as per Society policy.
I haven’t peopled in a long time, and am concerned about being in such a large, noisy space. Should I stay home?
There will be a designated “quiet space” for those needing a few minutes of alone time. Also, the space does have carpeting, which should help cut down on the noise.
Will there be A&S activities at Aisles?
Yes! This event is serving as the venue for the final round of the Crown A&S Champions competition. There will also be an in-person A&S display as a part of the A&S champs event.
Will there be fighting or fencing at Aisles?
No, there will not be any martial activities.
Will there be classes?
No. The event venue is not conducive individual to classroom spaces.
Will there be meetings?
Yes, there were will some guild meetings and order meetings. Be sure to check the schedule when it becomes available for more details!
Will the Royals be present?
Yes! TRM and TRH will be in attendance, and the event will close with a royal court.
Will I be able to register at gate on the day of the event?
No, pre-registration is required.
When is the pre-registration deadline?
February 17.
